Another day, another index. Spending most of my working hours in index-due panic mode these days. Which is sort of ok, since it means money coming in.

Fox News garners the viewers for whom ideology trumps news; every other news organization splits the rest of the viewers.

on that last: basically, the policy has been to make the rich richer in the hope that in turn they’d spend more, thereby making the economy stronger. This policy inadequately considered concentration of wealth, I think, as well as globalization. Maybe it would have worked better in a more closed economy, with less paper wealth, so that money HAD to recirculate? Maybe that’s worth speculating on, or maybe not.
